Beavers (6 to 8)

Beavers (6 to 8)

‘The best thing we did was run around in the rain. I wasn’t even sure we were allowed to, but it was brilliant! I mean we were wet anyway, so I guess it didn’t matter too much about the weather.’

At our weekly meetings in Guildford we play games, meet our friends and we get out and explore our local community. We do outdoor activities like treasure hunts and walks. We’ve been to the fire station, a Buddhist temple’, WWF Centre and a disabled children’s playcentre recently. At least twice a year we have the opportunity to experience the excitement of a sleepover or camp with our friends. Beavers is great fun!

Our Beaver Colony is the first section of St Nicolas 9th Guildford Scout Group. It has 24 members, both girls and boys, who stay with us for two years from age 6 to 8.

Beavers meet weekly on Wednesdays from 5:45pm in term time at Guildford United Reformed Church (GU2 4BS).

Through participation in their programme, Beavers gain a wide range of badges and challenge awards. Beavers can also achieve their Chief Scout’s Bronze Award.

To join in, Beavers make their Beaver Scout Promise.  At meetings they wear a turquoise uniform sweatshirt with the Group’s green and maroon scarf and a woggle.

We usually have a waiting list, so if your son or daughter would like to join us please get in touch before they’re 6 years old (as early as you like!). You can send us a message via the Contact Us form and we’ll let you have more information.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
