Beavers

Make friends and try new indoor and outdoor activities
Ages 6 to 8

In Beavers, we’re from 6 to 8 years old and we’re the Group’s youngest members. We meet weekly on Wednesdays from 5:45PM in term time at Guildford United Reformed Church (GU2 4BS). We enjoy all Scouting has to offer including playing games and outdoor activities. Each year we have the excitement of Beaver Scout sleepovers at the Group’s Good Friday Breakfast and the Winter Survival Camp.

Cubs

Learn practical skills while having adventures with friends
Ages 8 to 10 ½

In Cubs, we’re from 8 to 10 ½ years old. We meet weekly on Mondays at 6:30PM in term time at Guildford United Reformed Church (GU2 4BS). As well as games, we do lots of exciting outdoor skills like lighting fires and building dens and shelters. We take part in camps and have a special Cub trip called ‘Kip on a Ship’ when we stay on HMS Belfast. There’s a huge range of badges we can gain.

Scouts

Build confidence, friendships and enjoy the adventure of Scouting
Ages 10 ½ to 14

In Scouts we’re from 10½ to 14 years old. We meet at weekends about every three weeks during term time. We take part in a wide range of outdoor activities like bushcraft, camping and pioneering. We camp out every month of the year, including Frost Camp in January! We help out on projects in our local community. We enter the Surrey Scouts Expedition Challenge and we take part in international activities and adventures.

Explorers

Take the lead, become independent and achieve Scouting’s Top Awards
Ages 14 to 18

In Explorers, we’re from 14 to 18 years old. We meet at weekends during term time on average every three weeks. We kayak, climb, hill walk, coasteer, and do expeditions. With the support of our Leaders, we plan our own activities and work towards our Gold DofE, Explorer Belt and Queen’s Scout Awards.
